意味：刈り除くこと。また、よくないものを取り除くこと。

Ⅱ　謬見・・・びゅうけん
意味：間違った考えや見解。

Ⅲ　惷愚・・・しゅんぐ
意味：無知で愚かなこと。また、そのさま。

Ⅳ　澄霽・・・ちょうせい
意味：空がすんで晴れ渡っていること。

Ⅴ　懽心・・・かんしん
意味：大勢の人の喜び楽しむ心。

Ⅵ　懾服・・・しょうふく
意味：恐れて屈服する。

Ⅶ　弾子窩・・・だんしか、だんしわ
意味：風浪に洗われて縦横に紋理を生じた石。

Ⅷ　帛爛・・・はくらん
意味：きぬが腐乱する。その極めて多いことにいう。

P(x)を2x²＋9x－5＝(2x－1)(x＋5)で割った時の商をQ(x)とおくと、次の等式が成り立つ。
P(x)＝(2x－1)(x＋5)Q(x)＋3x＋5・・・①
また、P(x)はx－2で割ると余りが－3であるから剰余の定理よりP(2)＝－3・・・②
ここでP(x)を2次式x²＋3x－10＝(x－2)(x＋5)R(x)＋ax＋b
①よりP(－5)＝－10であるから、－5a＋b＝－10、②から2a＋b＝－3
これを解くとa＝1、b＝－5　よって、求める余りはx－5
